Vom Essen zwischen den Kriegen
When Alfred Polgar, Anton Kuh or Kurt Tucholsky wrote about food, they were often more sensual than in other texts. Rationed food, bread, milk and fat ration cards as well as illegal surreptitious trade were juxtaposed with opulent delights and the latest nutritional styles and findings. Walter Schübler provides a knowledgeable description of the background to these events, garnished with numerous historical images, biting illustrations and culinary temptations.
